| Silverwood Helps Fill Shelves at Local Food Banks | |
North of Coeur d’Alene, ID – Weekends in September (Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 10th through 25th) Silverwood will be working with local food banks in the Spokane and North Idaho Regions in operating a massive food drive named Community Appreciation Weekends. As an incentive for donating to the cause, guests will receive ½ price admission to the park ($20.99 all ages) when they donate 2 cans of food per ticket at Silverwood’s Front gate. 2nd Harvest in Spokane will lend a hand by providing pallet containers and barrels to help in gathering and storing the food throughout the food drive as well as pick-up of the food and distribution to food banks throughout our local region. This will be the 4th year Silverwood has run Community Appreciation Weekends with park guests donating around 6 tons of food each year. This year, for the first time, guests can print and purchase their discounted admission tickets online and in advance at www.silverwoodthemepark.com just as long as they bring the 2 can donation with them when they visit the park. Silverwood Theme Park is the largest Theme and Water Park in the Northwest with 216 acres of fun and over 65 rides, slides, shows and attractions. The park operates many community support programs including, but not limited to, the Community Appreciation Weekend Food Drive. Opening in 1988, Silverwood has grown from a local attraction into a fixture in the Northwest tourism industry as the most attended attraction in the state of Idaho. |
